If you get there during the autumn and spring you will definitely get lost there, not because the paths are confusing and worrisome but because of the beauty you encounter there, as it looks phenomenal. How to reach Machhapuchhre Model Trek?

Ghachok is the starting point of the trek. So, getting to Ghachok is the main concern, as you will start your trek from here. You can reach Ghachok in two ways: One is public transport and the other one is rented private vehicles. The easiest and most reliable is the rented one as you will directly reach Ghachok from Pokhara. It may take around  an hour and a half to reach Ghachok from Pokhara. This is the most followed means of transportation to get to Ghachok from Pokhara.

Alternative to this comes public vehicles. For this, you first need to reach Baglung bus park from Pokhara. To reach here, you have to take a taxi service from the hotel you are staying in. After you reach Baglung bus park, you can take a direct bus that will take you to Ghachok. In this way, you can reach Ghachok. After Ghachok, you can start your trek as explained in the above-mentioned itinerary.

Best Season for Short Treks from Pokhara

The main thing you should consider before signing in for any adventure is to learn the weather in that region. So, we can say that weather decides your whole journey whether it is the best or the worst. There is no doubt to say that trekking is most favourable during the season of Autumn and Spring. In Nepal, Spring falls in the month of March to May whereas Autumn falls from mid-September to November. So basically these two seasons are considered the best time for short treks in Pokhara.

Also, note down that visibility matters the most. So, trekking in the clear sky with warm temperatures is most rewarding. Especially in the months of September to November, days are warm and nights are pretty chill. Because of this, the mountain ranges along with the other scenery are unobstructed providing you with a full glam look. This in result will make your trek the most amazing one. The clear sky and the varying shape of the clouds above the peaks make it even more intriguing. The trails will not be that slippery which will make it easier to hike.

    Spring Season

Similarly, the months of March to May are another in which you could dive into the trek of these awe-inspiring delicate beauties. You could get a clear vision of the heroic mountain ranges with the other geographical features. This is the time in which the environment flourishes, spreading all the charm it has got. Flowers start to bloom and the surrounding smells aromatic with the mixed fragrance. This aids the trek to be more lively and entertaining. The forestlands which are your trail in most of the trek look much more incredible as it is the period in which old leaves are replaced by new ones (commonly called Paluwa in Nepali) signifying the start of the new season.

However, it will be the worst if you land during the rainy season which falls in June, July and August. Because of climate change, nowadays there is not that much rain during June. So, strictly avoid the months of July and August. Heavy rainfall occurs at this time making the trail slippery and also the risk of landslides peaks at this time. Similarly, December to February is the winter season when the temperature drops below 5, making it freezing cold. Also, the trails are hardly seen as the thick fog covers all over, so there is no possibility of hiking and trekking at this time. In addition to this, avalanches may occur, which makes it unfavourable for the trek.

This all concludes the autumn and spring season as the ideal time for the short trek in Pokhara.

    About Us

    Short Treks Difficulty

Trekking is fun and joyous but can be perilous sometimes. Though the short trek is easier and more comfortable than the long hazardous trek, it bears some difficulties too which are described below:

    Weather

What's more unpredictable than the weather in Nepal! The weather here is so fluctuating. Sunshine a moment ago turns into rainfall in the blink of an eye. Because of this, trekkers go through hard times. Sometimes they even need to halt the trek and wait for the weather to get cleared. When you are in a limited time range and if sth like this happens then it will definitely affect you. So, yeah this can be regarded as the main problem on this short trek.

    Sprains, Strains, Cut and Injury.

Not all of you are experienced trekkers when it comes to short treks. Some of you may be trying it for the first time. So, it can be more difficult for you than the others who have tried it before. In this case, you may experience some sprains and strains as you are not that much familiar with the trails and this trekking activity. Also, most of the trails are quite narrow and slippery, because of which you may get some bruises and cuts. So pay a good eye to the trails to avert this type of injury.

    Extreme Fatigueness

Generally, we head for the trek, to take a break from all the happenings and events which are mentally disturbing us. It's certain that trekking heals you from this perspective as you will get some diversion here. But it is also sure that you will face extreme fatigue and tiredness in your trek, but this time it will be only physical, not mental. You have to walk monotonously for several hours which can be boring as your legs will be on fire and you may feel like they are getting detached. And this is the most common difficulty experienced by most trekkers.

    Joint pain

Trekking not only involves the plain terrains but also the steep uphills and downhills too. Those who are not active walkers may experience various joint pains such as knee pain, shoulder pain, neck pain and many more. Also, you have to carry a few heavy bags while you trek which may trigger it even more.

    Sunburn and Dehydration

We usually tend to do this while we are on a trek. We just apply some sunscreen on the face only and forget that we are walking in the broad daylight. So, not only is the face the exposed part, your entire body is. And after the trek ends you will see sunburns on your hands, feet and necks which can be a serious problem here. Also, most forget to drink plenty of water ignoring the fact that they will sweat like crazy during some treks. Hence, they result in being dehydrated.

    Bug bites and predators attack

This short trekking trail from Pokhara involves the trail through the woodland and forest area. For this, You have to carry some insect repellants and protection as you can be the host of parasitic leeches and mosquitoes. So, this can also be regarded as a common difficulty faced by many.
