Pashupatinath temple devoted to Shiva is located on the holy banks of the Bagmati river. It is the oldest Hindu temple in Kathmandu. The Pashupatinath complex was built in 1692, during the time of the Maha Shivaratri Festival and Teej Festival this place is packed with its devotees. Aarati is done every evening at 6 PM as a ritual. Pashupatinath temple is considered the most secret pilgrimage site.
Boudhanath Stupa (Khasti Chaitya) is a very fascinating and spiritual sphere and the most visited Buddhist pilgrimage in Kathmandu. Boudhanath is an important monument for Buddhists, devoted to Gautam Budhha. The other name of the Boudhanath is Khasti Chaitya. People moving around the giant white dome, monks chanting in low and placid voices, and the strong smell of divine incense will welcome you to the spiritual site. The dorm is surrounded by 108 small (Manya) prayer wheels, and colorful Lung Ta (Tibetian prayer flags) hanging from the top of the dorm. One can experience spiritual tranquility here in Boudhanath Stupa.
The ancient city of Bhaktapur and Patan Exploration.
Similar to Kathmandu there are other places near Kathmandu valley which have a lot to offer. Bhaktapur locally known as Khwopa has some of the most intricate wood carvings done by the Newar artisans. There are historical monuments that are listed as UNESCO world heritage sites. Many religious sites have deep meaning to them. Some of the ancient monuments are Changu Narayan, Nyatapola Temple, Pachpannajhyale Durbar (55 window palace), and many more. Nyatapola Temple is weathered with characteristic stone sculptures, metal, and wood carvings that show the staggering skills of the bygone craftsmen. The beautifully sculptured building is the tallest temple in Nepal with its 5 storeys/5 tier roof. It is built in the traditional pagoda style. This temple is dedicated to Siddhi Lakshmi which is the wrathful manifestation of goddess Durga. It was built in about 1700 by the royalty of Bhupatrinda Malla.
Pachpannajhyale Durbar/ 55 windowed Palace This one-of-a-kind palace is at Bhaktapur Du Palace and was built by King Bhupatindra Malla. This palace has a unique history as the legends say it was built in honor of his 55 wives. This palace is engraved with gorgeous wood carvings done by artistic Newars.
Patan Durbar Square is a UNESCO world heritage site which is in Patan city, locally known as Lalitpur. The major attraction in Patan is Krishna Temple which is entirely carved out of single stone. It is an exquisite example of terracotta craftsmanship. Other temples and monuments are as idiosyncratic as the Krishna Temple. Bhimsen Temple, Vishwanath temple which is dedicated to God Shiva, and Taleju Bhawani Temple which is dedicated to Taleju Goddess are the attractions of this site. This place not only has beautiful architecture but also has numerous handmade souvenir shops on the way that you can collect.
Nagarkot is best known for its majestic sunrise and marvelous valley view. At an elevation of 2,195 meters, it is considered the most scenic place in the Bhaktapur district. Nagarkot is not only known for its sunrise but also for its glorious mountain view. Some of the noticeable mountains that you can see from this viewpoint are Manasalu Range, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugal Range, Everest Range, and Numbur Range on clear days. Nagarkot is located 32 km northeast of Kathmandu on the northern fringe of the Kathmandu valley far from the urban cities. Nagarkot also offers a panoramic view of the entire Kathmandu valley.

Hiking to the Gurung Villages
These stunning villages will greet you with unspoiled nature and unique culture. You will hike to these places crossing several beautiful waterfalls as these places are located for hilly reasons. The foods that you will eat there will have authentic taste according to their region. Blend in with the Gurung culture and learn about the traditions of Ghandruk and Dhampus. After exploring nature you will continue your excursion with a short hike toward Dhampus that will take around 3 hours by foot.
