Trip Overview

The 20-day Humla Limi Valley Trek in Nepal takes place in a remote and undeveloped region of the country. It is one of the best treks to experience the beautiful Tibetan culture. The majority of the expedition will be spent walking along the banks of the Karnali river. You will be traveling along both the Mt. Kailash pilgrimage route and an ancient salt trading route. Before heading to the trek's beginning point, Simikot, you must first travel from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj.

Trekking through the Humla and Limi valleys is an exhilarating journey to Tibet's and Nepal's isolated mountains. As you travel through the isolated village and historic monasteries, you will experience a fascinating journey. A spectacular experience of the serene area and its entrancing woodland and scenery is provided by the Humla and Limi hike. A thrilling trip to the uninhabited highlands of Nepal and Tibet is the Humla and Limi Valley trek. As you travel through the isolated village and historic monasteries, you will experience a fascinating journey. The quiet area, as well as its entrancing forest and scenery, can be exquisitely explored on the Humla and Limi trek.

The beautiful Humla Himalayas contain a hidden gem called the Humla and Limi valley trek. Due to its location in the far north of Nepal, Humla is a remote district. Humla is a lonely region, yet because Bhotes and Khasa live there, it has a variety of cultural traditions. In villages like Bhotes and Khasas, you can get a chance to learn about the native Tibetan culture. You will get an opportunity to experience the indigenous culture of the villages.

The paths of the Humla Limi Valley trek lead to the wealthy Buddhist villages of Tibet and the cities of Yak perched high in the Himalayas, amidst farmed land, lesser-known valleys, and cultivated farmland. An ancient religious hamlet dating back 1000 years is where the tour begins. If you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the numerous blue sheep and the large odd cat. Nepal is overflowed by Tibet.

A great "off the beaten track" adventure in Nepal's western Himalayas is the walk through the Humla Limi Valley. This walk brings you to the untouched and beautiful Humla Limi Valley in addition to letting you explore the Karnali river. However, the towns of Halji, Til, and Dzang have magnificent Tibetan traditions and culture in addition to challenging passes. Along with its pure beauty, the Humla Limi Valley trek's main draws include as follows.

The Limi Valley seems to have been nearly forgotten by time. Modernization in the present is barely perceptible. On the walk, you can see and feel the medieval-looking villages, equally historic culture, and a bygone way of life. Consequently, the Humla Limi Valley walk is regarded as the undiscovered jewel of western Nepal. In spite of all the hardships the residents of Limi Valley have faced for decades, life looks easy on this intriguing journey, an unconventional camping trek in far-western Nepal.

The hike offers breathtaking vistas of mountain ranges like Api, Saipal, Kanjirowa, Mt. Kailash, and others. While traveling via the 4,620-meter-high Nara La Pass, you may enjoy a breathtaking view of the Himalayan ranges, Tibet, and the Humla region.

Major attractions of the Humla Limi Valley Trek:

One of the best treks in Nepal's western region is the Humla Limi Valley Trek. The main draws of the journey are the untouched alpine scenery, the unspoiled culture, and traditions, as well as a few Gompas, lakes, valleys, and villages. This walk is perfect for experienced hikers who wish to discover the best natural beauty away from modern civilizations. Humla Limi Valley Trek encompasses different awe-inspiring attractions and natural settings that will amaze you in every part of the trek. Some of the major attractions of the Humla Limi Valley trek are as follows:

Limi Valley:

The Limi Valley is located in Nepal's far west. It is located in Nepal's Humla district, which is also among the country's most remote areas. As a result, the culture, traditions, routes, and other aspects are still unknown and obscured to modern society. Once you cross the Karnali River and enter the Limi Valley, you will see fascinating people, cultures, and traditions. In the meantime, you can see the pilgrims making their way to the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

Similar to this, Kermi village is home to the magnificent Laikyo Gompa and Lhundrup Choeling Gompa. You will travel along the Sali River's bank from Kermi village to Yalbang village, where you can see Namkha Khyung Dzong Monastery. Similar to this, one of the most significant Shakya monasteries is Dhungkar Choezon Monastery in Tumkot. The Nepalese Humla Limi valley walk is a fantastic way to see some of the country's unspoiled and uncharted terrain.

Nara La Pass:

The Nara La Pass is situated in Nepal's far western region. It is 4,530 meters above sea level where it is located. An old salt trade route runs along the summit's road. It is the penultimate pass before China in this part of northwest Nepal. After passing through Nara La, there is a lengthy, steep descent to Hilsa, which is close to the Tibetan border, on the western side of the mountain. Excellent trail for wheelers with expertise. If you're not comfortable driving on unpaved mountain roads, stay away from this location. The road in Nepal's extreme northwest is gravelly, rocky, occasionally tippy, and rough. A stream of stones and strings of vibrant Tibetan prayer flags serve as markers for the pass.

Nyalu La Pass:

At a height of 4,949 meters above sea level, the top of the Nyalu La Pass offers breathtaking views over the Humla valley and Tibet. The gravel and rock-strewn road lead to the summit. The slope is extremely rocky and steep, with loose stones making up the majority of the slope's lower portion.

Only a very little window of time between around mid-April and mid-November is suitable for making this trek. In mountainous places, the wind is frequently fairly powerful. Here, there are strong winds all year long. You may encounter snowy days even in the summer. Here in the winter, it gets really frigid. A service road for a ski resort, the road to the peak has certain sections that are up to 30% grade.

Best time to visit Humla Limi Valley Trek:

The optimum seasons for planning and undertaking the Humla Limi Valley trip are spring (March to May) and fall (October to November), when the weather is more predictable. Warm days with a clear sky make it ideal for hiking. The trail is covered in a variety of wildflowers in the spring, and you may participate in multiple festivals in the fall.

This trek should not be undertaken during the summer, monsoon season, or winter. The trekking is challenging due to the unreliable weather and dreary days. The trail is made slick by heavy rain, and it is extremely chilly at all times. Therefore, in order to visit the Humla Limi Valley trek, these considerations should be taken in terms of seasons and months.

Humla Limi Valley Trek Difficulty:

A once-in-a-lifetime adventure, the Humla Limi Valley walk is ideal for people looking for adventurous travel, who are content to adopt a simple lifestyle, and who enjoy discovering Nepal's hidden villages' isolation. The Humla Limi Valley trip would appeal to you the most if you wish to experience the authentic and undeveloped trails of far western Nepal.

Humla Limi Valley trek is a strenuous trek. Relative to accessibility and accommodations, it is challenging. Additionally, because it is higher up, it is crucial that we acclimate to the altitude and adjust to it.

Trekkers must camp in a number of locations. Therefore, the trekking route does not have access to modern conveniences. The opportunity to explore the untouched, exquisitely gorgeous mountains and valleys is a lovely aspect. Another important area to visit is the calm and beautiful surroundings, as well as the incredible warmth of the residents.

This trekking region is located at a height of above 4000 meters. As a result, having high altitude sickness is possible. The risk of severe altitude sickness, which could eventually lead to HAPE (High Altitude Pulmonary Edema) and HACE, can be reduced with the use of appropriate medical and other measures (High Altitude Cerebral Edema). As a result, it's crucial to drink enough water, eat a balanced meal, and, if altitude sickness persists, take the appropriate medications and undergo acclimatization.

Talking about difficulty, the trek is very doable with basic trekking skills. Good physical fitness is very important while trekking in this area. Since, you will be trekking up to the elevation of 4900m above sea level, a good understanding of Acute Mountain Sickness is very helpful.

One of the things you should keep in mind is the packing list. You should not carry excess baggage which can lead to excess strain on your body. Necessary amenities should only be carried. For the packing list suggestions, you can visit the Nepal trekking gear checklist.
