Where is Bardia National Park?
Bardia National park is one protected area inside Nepal similar to Chitwan National park. It was established in 1976 as Royal Bardia National Park. The national park covers a total area of 968 km2 which makes it the largest and most unspoiled national park in Nepal’s Terai region. It is situated in western terai in Bardia district. The national park mostly lies in the Bardia district however, it also occupies some areas of the Banke and Surkhet districts. It is 582 km far from the capital city - Kathmandu.
It is near the eastern banks of the Karnali River and the Babai river divides it from the Bardia district. Nepal is one of the most hospitable countries in the world as a result you will be welcomed at the airport and welcomed in a typical Nepali style. As soon as you finish your baggage collection and paperwork our office representative will escort you to your respective hotel and help you check in. The sparkling city lights will mesmerize you with their beauty. On the next day you will fly to Nepalgunj which will take around 50 mins. As you reach the domestic airport Nepalgunj you will get a warm welcome by our local representative and escort you to your respective resort. The distance between the airport and the airport Bardia National Park is just 86 km which will take around 2 hours. You will pass through the borderline of the Bardia National park so there is a good chance to see wildlife on the way like deer, monkeys, and other common animals.
After you check into the hotel you will get fresh and have lunch at the resort while enjoying a chilled beverage. After a while, you will take part in an exciting activity that is Jeep Safari. In the evening there is a good chance to see wild animals such as deer, one-horned rhinos and if lucky enough Tiger as well. (Duration 2 hours). After your jeep safari, you will be welcomed by a delicious meal followed by a traditional Tharu dance inside the resort premises. The peaceful sound from the forest will grant you ultimate peace.
On the 3rd day of your breathtaking trip, you will devote your entire day to the jungle to catch a glimpse of the Tiger. You will go on a dusk jeep into the jungle and stop at a point and start walking. On your fourth day you will take part in a must-do activity while in Bardia which is Boating the Karnali river and exciting jeep safari. You will cruise on a hand-crafted boat called the Patela. As you sail in the Karnali River you will see wild ducks floating in the peaceful river. You will get to see the aquatic life in the river which includes (Platanista Gangetica / freshwater Dolphins), endangered Gharial crocodiles and marsh Mugger, and many more. Today you will explore other routes of the jungle where you can get a possible chance to see the Tiger. The guide will look out for clues such as scats, pugmarks, scratch marks on a tree, and so on. This will help you to identify the exact location of the Tiger. On the way, you will have your delicious packed lunch and rest for a while in the safe spot chosen by your naturalist. After you have your lunch you will again advance towards the deep jungle in search of the Royal Bengal Tiger.

After you reach Kathmandu, rest your bags at the hotel and self-explore the streets of Kathmandu, or just relax at a cozy coffee shop. We will meet in the evening to have a traditional Nepali dinner, normally a Thakali cuisine with a live performance of the folk songs as your farewell.
