What to expect from the Annapurna Base camp trek?
The Annapurna Base Camp 7 days trek provides one of a kind experience in the shadows of the great Mt. Annapurna. As this trekking program is relatively shorter than the general Annapurna trek, you will start your journey directly with a flight to Pokhara that will take around 30 mins. You will get private transportation from your respective hotel to the airport. You can see different mountain peaks from your flight towards Pokhara on a clear day. After you land in Pokhara and finish with your baggage collection your transportation will be ready outside the airport to pick you up. You can have lunch if you wish in the nearby area. From Pokhara, it will take around an hour of nonstop drive and you will reach Ghandruk village. On the way, you will get to see numerous small waterfalls where you can stop by and have some pictures. As you get closer to your destination the view of the mountains gets more and more clear. You will drive through the jungle and might get to see some wild animals like monkeys and other small animals. You will see distinguishable traditional houses as soon as you reach Ghandruk. On the second day of your trek, you will walk up to Chhomrong, the second biggest village in the Annapurna conservation area. On this trek, you will be accompanied by a professional trek guide who will provide you with all the necessary information. To reach Chhomrong one must walk around 8 KM which will take around 5 hours. As you walk you will come across animals such as mules, and horses carrying goods to different places as there are little to no means of modern transportation facilities. After a few miles from Ghandruk, you will cross a suspension bridge, and after that, you will ascend a steep hill and reach Chhomrong and stay there overnight.
On the third day, you'll trek to the Himalaya and taste there overnight. Today you will ascend and descend to reach the destination. From Chhomrong there is a gradual descent till you reach a river where you will cross a suspension bridge from there you will walk to a steep trail and reach Sinuwa. You will walk while observing the beautiful Fishtail mountain. After that, you will reach Bamboo after a steep descent and then cross Dovan and finally reach Himalaya. On the way, you will cross noticeable with fresh and crystal clear water. Stay at a cozy lodge and spend the rest of your time talking with your friends, reading books, or simply exploring the surrounding area. You can find good coffee and bakery items at the lodge that you can enjoy and treat yourself.
On the fourth day, you will trek to Annapurna Base camp. Have a warm cup of tea and breakfast and put on your trekking shoes and get ready to be amazed. As you walk upwards you will notice the number of trees decreases as the oxygen level goes down. You have to walk for around 5-6 hours to reach the base camp. As you walk, you will come across a popular attraction that is Hinku cave where you can rest and give some pictures as memories. From here there is an avalanche risk area which you will cross carefully. After that, you will reach Deurali where you can find a few guest houses. From here you can see Gangapurna mountain right in the middle of two giant hills. From Deurali it takes around 2 hours to reach MBC and from MBC it takes just 2 hours to reach the supreme destination of this trek, the Annapurna Base camp. You can have lunch at the MBC and rest before you go to ABC.
You will reach Annapurna base camp just in time to view the marvellous sunset. you will cross the pasture land with an excellent mountain drop back. Small streams will treat your ears and eyes. Seasonal wildflowers will greet you throughout the trail. Once at the Base camp have pictures to appreciate the celestial view. Check-in at the lodge and explore the area. Have warm food and drink and view the stunning sunset. You will be surrounded by mountains and get 360 Mountain views. The next day you will wake up early to witness the sunrise on top of the savage Mt. Annapurna. Have your morning meal and make your way back to upper Sinuwa and stay there overnight. From here till Chhomrong you will follow the same trail. Once at Chhomrong you will descend for an hour to reach Jhinu where you can relax at the Hotspring. After that, you will cross a river through the biggest suspension bridge of this trip. From there you will drive to Pokhara.
Once at Pokhara checks in at the hotel and gets refreshed. you can go shopping, boating, and self-exploration. Have some quality time and spend your night at a comfortable hotel.
