Annapurna Base Camp Trek (ABC Trek) is one of the world-renowned legendary and classical treks of Nepal. It is located in the western part of Nepal and is one of the popular teahouse treks of the ACAP region. Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Annapurna Base Camp trek is one of the most popular treks from Pokhara. There are many ups and downs throughout the trek. The trek goes through some beautiful villages with a view of the Machhapuchhre. From Kathmandu, it will take about 7 hours to reach Pokhara from the drive and just 25 mins by flight. It is one of the most beautiful cities in Nepal and is also popular for viewing the different mountain ranges, adventure activities, lakes, and many more. From Pokhara, it will take about an hour to reach Nayapul. From Nayapul the off-road drive will take you to the beautiful Gurung village of Ghandruk.
Ghandruk is the most popular Gurung village in Nepal. This village is rich in Gurung culture, and tradition, amazing views of the mountain ranges, and a lot more things. Ghandruk is the starting point of the trek. The first day of the trek is not so easy as you will need to ascend almost throughout the day. Chhomrong is the most developed and largest village on the route to Annapurna Base Camp. There are plenty of Hotels and Lodge as well as different facilities available for the refreshment of the trekkers. The further walk will lead you to Sinuwa village situated at an altitude of 2,340 meters above sea level.
Bamboo is another popular village on the route to Annapurna Base Camp. The further walk will lead you to Dovan situated at an altitude of 2,600 meters above sea level. After 2 hours of walking, you will reach the Himalayas for an overnight stay. Situated at an altitude of 3,700 meters above sea level it will take about 6 hours to reach Machhapuchhre base camp from Himalaya. It will take about 2 hours to reach Annapurna Base Camp from Machhapuchhre base camp.
Situated at an altitude of 4,130 meters above sea level you can witness Machhapuchhre and Annapurna I along with other mountain ranges. This trek is ideal because it covers the two wonderful base camps: Annapurna and Machhapuchhre. The return trail follows Dovan, Jhinu Hot spring, and finally taking back to Pokhara.
Best Time to Visit Annapurna Base Camp
The temperature here is cold in the morning and warm during the daytime. Consequently, visitors can hike and enjoy the fantastic views with a clear sky. The best time for trekking in Annapurna is during the autumn (September to Early December) and spring seasons (March to May) of Nepal. However, the low-altitude treks in this region are also preferable in the winter and summer seasons.

Start your program from the heart of the country Kathmandu. The next day without wasting any time, head out to the airport to catch a flight to Pokhara - the city of lakes. The flight duration is just 25 mins. Finish your baggage collection and move towards your transportation outside the airport waiting for you. Check in at your respective hotel and rest your bags. Adventure time.
Start your beautiful morning with a warm cup of coffee and a delicious breakfast. Pack your bags and put on your trekking shoes for a thrilling adventure into the Himalayas. Drive towards the rich cultured village - of Ghandruk which takes an hour or two. Ghandruk is the most commercial and biggest Gurung village in Nepal. On the way, you get to see alluring waterfalls and small streams where you can stop by and have some snaps. Once at Ghandruk view the beauty of the traditional Gurung village and visit the local museum and try on the cultural garment and take some pictures with an exclusive backdrop. From Ghandruk you can see the savage Mt. Annapurna south face, Mt. Fishtail, and Mt. Hiuchuli. After exploring the adorable village, start walking towards Chhomrong, the second biggest village in the Annapurna conservation area. On the way to Chhomrong, you might come across native animals such as langur monkeys and different species of birds. One can see the vibrant nightlight of Ghandruk from Chhomrong.

On the fourth day of your trekking program, you will trek to a place called Himalaya. You will walk through small hamlets such as Sinuwa (2340m), Bamboo (2310m), Dovan (2505m), then finally Himalaya (2920m). Before you reach Himalaya you will witness the majestic waterfall. Take pictures for memories and walk towards your destination. You will walk around 5-6 hours to reach your destination. Rest at the cozy hotel and rest your bags at the hotel. Get refreshed and rest your feet for the next day. You can find aromatic coffee and other bakery items that you can enjoy. Himalaya is surrounded by hills and small waterfalls here and there that will give you a peaceful environment.
On the fifth day, you will trek to the ultimate destination and the goal Annapurna Base camp (4310m). Have your fresh breakfast and start walking while enjoying the exquisite view. You will walk through two giant valleys where the mountains will tease you with a glimpse of it. Within two hours you will reach Deurali (3200m) and from here it takes 2 hours to reach Machhapuchhre base camp MBC (3700m). As you get closer to MBC you will find yourself surrounded by high mountains with their cold glare at you. Have your lunch with an amazing ambiance, rest for a while and hike up to Annapurna Base camp and appreciate the beauty of the brutal mountains around you. From MBC it takes just 2 hours to arrive at ABC. Once at ABC, rest your bags, change into warm and comfortable clothes, and have a hot cup of tea. Explore the surrounding area and wait for the sunset. In the evening view the splendid sunset along with the mountains. Rest well and have your dinner before you go to bed.
On the sixth day make your way back to Sinuwa. Before walking down, witness the beauty of the mountain one last time. Have pictures and gear up to walk. Return from the same way as before and stay at Sinuwa. The next day, trek down to Jhinu where you will stay overnight. A special thing about Jhinu is that there is a natural hot spring where you can rest and relax. To be at Jhinu one must reach Chhomrong and hike down for an hour to reach Jhinu. Stay there overnight and relax at the comfortable lodge.
City exploration!
On the eighth day, you drive towards Pokhara from Jhinu which will take around 1 and a half hours. After you get to Pokhara check in at the hotel and get refreshed. This day is a leisure day where you can rest or go out to explore the city of adventure. There are lots of things that you can do at Pokhara. You can go shopping, exploring, boating and many more. Enjoy the peaceful environment, and visit restaurants and cafes to spend some quality time. Enjoy the vibrant night and enjoy your time at Pokhara. The next day after your breakfast check out of the hotel and drive to the airport to catch a flight to Kathmandu. Visit the streets of Kathmandu full of light and life. Enjoy your day accordingly and in the evening meet us for a traditional Nepali dinner with live music on folk songs.
On the tenth day, have your breakfast before your checkout and get ready for your departure. You will be escorted on a private basis to the airport drop.
