The word Kanchenjunga is derived from the Tibetan word referring to ‘five great treasures in the snow’. Which symbolizes its five peaks as gold, silver, precious stones, grain, and holy scriptures. Kanchenjunga conservation area is home to several rare wild species including red panda, black bear, musk deer, blue ship and the snow leopard.
